How to Make the Most of Your June Wedding – Pure Concept Salon + Spa

How to Make the Most of Your June Wedding

Choosing a date for your wedding has a significant impact on the tone of your wedding for many reasons.  Regardless of where it takes place – in a church or on the beach – you must consider the season and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. Planning a June wedding means thinking about the weather, the location, and most importantly how to make sure that you stay looking beautiful AND feeling fresh on this most important of days.

The Dress

That heavily beaded organza dress has been the dress of your dreams for ages, but if you’ve chosen June to be married that dream is going to have to be altered or you’ll spend your perfect day sweating like a linebacker in practice on an August day.  To be weather appropriate you want to choose a dress that lets your skin breath.  Perhaps something backless, V-neck, high-low, or perhaps a halter dress?  Consider something in silk, chiffon, or lace to give you look that is both elegant, light and still very fashion forward.  Lastly, take the time to have unwanted hair removed by wax, razor or laser to avoid excess sweating and be sure to invest in a good invisible deodorant to keep you dry without that horrible and uncomfortable residue build up.

The Hair

As important as it is to make sure that your dress suits the weather and location, it is just as important to give yourself a hairstyle that is both appropriate for the place and time and still reflects your style.  Want to avoid frizzy or windblown hair?  Go for a style that will keep your hair off your face like mid-high/low buns, low ponytails, slicked straight back, or a fishtail braid. If you’re blessed with curly hair this is the perfect season to let your hair flow freely.  Do remember not to go overboard on the hair accessories.  If your dress has a lot going on keep your hair sleek or use simple and elegant accessories. And regardless of what you choose, be sure to use humidity control products to keep your hair from getting out of control.

The Skin

Keeping your skin healthy, hydrated and clear should always be a priority every day and all year round.  Make sure that you are drinking lots of water, using sunscreen and sticking to a good skin care regimen.  Exfoliate at least once or twice a week, clean and moisturize morning and night and if you are having real problems with acne be sure to see your dermatologist regularly.  It is always better to work toward clear and healthy skin than to cake on the makeup to cover up.  Indulge yourself and have a facial but be sure to do that at least one day before your wedding for best results.  Lastly, in the heat of summer the last thing that you want is to have your makeup melting off your face.  With good skin prep and light but superior quality makeup you’ll look fresh as a daisy well into the night.

Hands/Feet/Mind

Bride OR Groom, few things can make you feel more relaxed and confident than giving yourself the time to have a massage, a manicure and/or a pedicure.  We strongly suggest all three.  It’s your wedding day! Treat yo’self!
